Salt Lake City Local Music

Does anyone know of any good local bands in the Salt Lake City area?
I recently moved back to Utah from California and I really want to check out some local shows. Are there any bands you would recommend? I know when I lived here before, there use to be an amazing local music scene. I hope the same is true now!

Evolove’s “Wake Up Call” Music Video

A couple months ago, the band Evolove debuted their video for “Wake Up Call” on HotTopic.com and it now has over 2,200 views of that site alone. Since the video’s debut, the band has completed a national tour and also added the music video to their own YouTube page, where the number of views is quickly increasing. Personally, I think the video is filmed amazingly and also showcases the band very well. The video was directed by Iggi Ogard. On Evolove’s YouTube page, you can also watch tour videos from the band’s recent national tour.

Evolove Starts Their First National Tour

Starting tonight, Evolove will be beginning their first national tour. The band’s record release show for “Breaking Heartstrings” is August 6th at the Universal City Walk in Universal City, CA. Soon after, the band will be visiting cities around the country such as Salt Lake City, Las Vegas, Chicago, Des Moines, Cincinnati and more! The band’s new EP is being released on their very own HeartChord Records. Joining the band on their tour are the bands Stitched Up Heart and Gemini Syndrome. They also have some impressive sponsors for the tour including Audix Microphones, Schecter Guitars, ESP Guitars, Orange Amplifiers, Line-6, Dunlop, MXR, Heavycore Guitar Strings, Risen Drums, Supernaturals Cymbals, and Rock Me Make-Up.

I first heard about Evolove through Planet LA Records. I’ve seen the band play both acoustically and also with a full band at the Hard Rock Café in Hollywood. I loved their first EP, especially the song Let Me In. The lyrics are amazing and super relatable. The leader singer Lucy truly brings life into all of the songs. The first EP has been sold in stores such as Hot Topic and Torrid, as well as on iTunes.

New Name, New Changes.

Formerly known as Britt Music Quest, I’ve changed the name to BLD Music Quest to better
fit with my other related projects I’m beginning and to make it all go together much more.
I also like the idea of my name not being so obvious in the title.

With the name change, I’m also going to be adding some changes to the blog.
Besides updating more (I promise!), I’m also going to be adding more news on the industry,
instead of only featuring reviews and articles being only about bands.

I want to turn the blog into something that can help musicians as well,
providing tips and ideas on how to help their careers.

These changes will also be starting shortly. So hold tight!

P.S.: I’m currently buying some new music by some great bands!
Can’t wait to share my thoughts on the songs!
